MEET MOLLY

Hi there, my name is Molly! I was born in Louisville, Kentucky and have lived here for my entire life. I am currently studying Industrial Engineering at the University of Louisville - Go Cards! I love the city and even though sometimes I think about moving away, I know that I will always come back eventually. Louisville has so many fun things to do and there is something for everyone. I love all the different neighborhoods and the local spots in each of them. On the weekends, you can most likely find me hanging out at a local coffee shop. Coffee is the number one thing that I cannot live without and Louisville has so many local coffee shops to fuel that enthusiasm.

As much as I love Louisville, I also have a major passion for traveling. There are so many things in the world and I’m so curious about all of them! I’ve never been out of the United States, but my dream vacation is Greece. When I travel, I like to pack my time away to the max. Especially with outdoor adventures, if the area accommodates it. I love adventurous outdoor activities, especially hiking and kayaking. Fun fact: I spent a week this past winter on a primitive island off the coast of the Florida Keys exploring, fishing, swimming, kayaking, and basically having the time of my life. While that trip was planned for eighteen months in advance, I also enjoy taking spontaneous weekend trips and making the most of my time in cities that are close enough to make a quick road trip.

MEET GABRIELLA

Hello! My name is Gabriella. I was born in Indonesia, but was raised in northern Kentucky (Florence, y'all) and moved to Louisville for college. To be honest, I wasn’t too thrilled to be attending the University of Louisville, but now I am so so glad that I did. I’m studying chemical engineering, although I’m not sure what I want to do with it when I graduate. Since my class schedule is full of heavy engineering classes, I make it a priority to be creative in my free time. I’ve done a lot of different crafty things in my past from candle-making to jewelry design, but my recent passion is for embroidery. I've been working on the back of a denim jacket for quite some time now so stay tuned to see if I ever finish it! Other than arts and crafts, in my free time I take care of my many plants, read books, and frequent Home Depot.

College has brought me so many opportunities to travel with so many different people. I’ve loved exploring Louisville - mostly with Molly lol - and traveling to various cities throughout the US! (My favorite things to do when I visit another city is go to their art museum and local botanical garden.) If there’s one thing you should do while you’re in college it's traveling while you can. I recommend joining organizations that allow you to do that! My extracurricular activities have taken me to Colorado, New York, Arizona (and more!) and have connected me with so many people around the nation.

ABOUT US

Molly and I met during the spring semester of our freshman year of college. Even though we literally lived a few doors down from each other in the same dorm, we didn’t meet until she joined our sorority. Thankfully, our big took Molly as a second little and a friendship quickly formed. It strengthened even further when, at the beginning of sophomore year, it was discovered that we accepted co-op positions at the same company! This happened all without the other one knowing we were even looking at the same job. Since the location was an hour away we decided to move to this super small town in Indiana together. That semester is definitely one of the most memorable semesters of my college career and I’m sure Molly would say the same. During that time, the Instagram account @mollyandgabriella was born. It was originally set up to document our Whole30 journey and we’ve used it sparingly since then. Until now!

A couple weekends ago we joked around about making a blog and then realized we could seriously pursue it. We met up a few times throughout this past week and a half to form a game plan. We hope you continue to follow our journey in and out of Louisville - we have a lot of exciting things to share with you!
