Hello world; welcome back to Molly & Gabriella! We have both been so busy with life, school, extracurriculars, and the fear of the future that we absolutely could not even fathom maintaining an online presence over the fall semester. After lots of brainstorming and a long hike, we have decided to return from our hiatus after acclimating ourselves to this semester and working diligently on our time management to determine exactly what kind of time we have this spring to devote to our creative outlet (aka The Blog). Keep reading to find out exactly what has transpired in each of our lives over the last five months!

MOLLY

My fall semester felt like it lasted forever while in all actuality I zoomed through it. I had a jam-packed, hodge podge of a class schedule that frequently stacked my weeks against me - one week I had SIX tests!!! It was by far the most challenging semester I’ve had academically, but also super rewarding once it was completed.
I received an offer for a full time job from my boss at co-op and had to think a LOT about what I want to do with the rest of my life. After much consideration, I politely declined the offer due to the amount of added stress it would have added with working part-time while in school. During that time frame I also made the decision that I am going to take the summer off from school! I haven’t had a free summer in SO LONG and was originally planning to go to school in the summer and fall to finish out my degree. While considering full time jobs, however, I realized how much I needed some time off so I applied for a job at Florida Sea Base in the Keys. I went last year for a week and have thought about it everyday since then. I accepted a job as an Island Mate, meaning that I’ll be spending fourteen weeks on a primitive island (MUNSON!) this summer <3. Sea Base is owned by the Boy Scouts of America and I have participated in the Venturing program for four years and spent my fall transitioning into an adult/supervisory role. I went on a trip to St. Louis and camped for a weekend and also held a position on a week-long youth leadership development program.
Between studying, I saw a ton of concerts- Judah & the Lion, The Jonas Brothers, Bad Suns, The Band Camino, 5 Seconds of Summer and the Chainsmokers, and Hippo Campus. I also dyed my hair for every life crises I had. I went fully blonde, then rose gold, and now I'm back to blonde!
It was a whirlwind of a few months, but I’m ready to get back to Molly & Gabriella!
GABRIELLA

In the last few weeks of co-op, I spontaneously decided to adopt a dog! Her name is Butter and she is the cutest thing in the world. She took up a LOT of my time since we adopted her when she was only eight weeks old!
The fall semester flew by, but I was so busy during all of it. I started a new job at the University Career Center where I help students with resumes and finding jobs. It was my last semester as president of my sorority and I was expecting it to be smooth-sailing. However, with a turnover in FSL leadership, alumnae & housing drama, and elections for the new set of officers, the sorority kept me busy! Also, in September was my final DerbyHacks, a 24-hour hackathon for college students all over the country, and planning for that took a lot of my time.
Finally, I went to the fall career fair, a networking event, and I received my Six Sigma Green Belt certification all in preparation of applying to full-time jobs in the spring. However, I was taking a class that semester to go on a service-learning trip to Cebu, Philippines, which I went to in December. During the trip, I met a few law students and I made the decision to apply to law school!! I had thought about law school throughout my undergrad, but I never thought it was a possibility because of my engineering major.
It’s been a hectic couple of months, but I’m excited for my future and the future of Molly & Gabriella!
